Chocolate workshop in Deventer ..... O la la Sjokolaa

CHOCOLATE WORKSHOP…. Be a Chocolatier for a few hours!

Last Saturday we took the whole family to the Hanseatic town of Deventer for a chocolate workshop at ‚Sjokolaa‘. A beautifully decorated chocolate shop with delicious handmade chocolates.

After a pleasant stroll through the lively Brink-square it leads the way to the picturesque ‚Walstraat‘ in the historic party of the city with it’s many little and charming shops.

Upon arrival at the beautiful store of ‚Sjokolaa‘ we already smell the chocolate which is very promissing! The owner Lidy Lentelink, who has made her chocolate passion into a proffession, greets us kindly. After the group has been completed she hands us all a blue apron and then it’s time to start!

We take place around a large, shiny clean stainless steel table (which is covered with chocolate drops, pralinés and chocolates…Just try to stay away from that!) After Lidy proffessionally explaned the techniques and preparation of the chocolate, we inplemented our newly acquired knowledge into practice and we use all our imganination to create the most beautiful chocolates.

Chocolate drops, pralines and chocolates...Just try to stay away from that!!

The workshop is above all, all about the experience. Besides the fun, initiative and creativity the workshop is about working together.
So, discover the finest confectionery and immerse yourself in the world of chocolate at ‘Sjokolaa’!

Now that you are already in Deventer you can combine the chocolate workshop with a guided city tour through the beautiful city. The perfect opportunity to get to know the city and it’s pleasant shopping streets and cosy restaurants even better.

My personal tip; go to Sant Tropez! This restaurant at the Brink-square has a splendid terrace and has very cool distinctive furnishing. The dishes are delicious with a touch of France!
